What We Believe

Good Shepherd Lutheran is a member of The Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. As Lutherans, our beliefs can be summarized in three phrases: Grace Alone, Faith Alone, and Scripture Alone.

SOLA GRATIA: Grace Alone

God loves all the people of the world, even though we are sinful, rebel against Him, and do not deserve His love. He sent Jesus, His Son, to save us all.

SOLA FIDE: Faith Alone

By His suffering and death on the cross for us and for all people, Jesus purchased and won the forgiveness of sins and eternal life for those who hear the Gospel and believe the Good News. They have the life that He offers forever. God the Holy Spirit creates faith in Christ through the Word and the Sacraments and offers forgiveness to all believers.

SOLA SCRIPTURA: Scripture Alone

The Bible is God's inerrant and infallible Word, in which He reveals His Law and the Gospel of salvation in Jesus Christ. The Scriptures are the sole rule and norm for Christian doctrine.
